Distinction Without a Difference: When out shopping, Mirabel asks if Hiccup prefers a lilac or heliotrope pillow. To him, they look identical.
Mood Whiplash: The majority of the chapter is happy, with Casita coming back to life, the gifts returning, and everyone having an enormous party. It's towards the end of said party that Hiccup tells Mirabel that he and Toothless need to leave soon. The remark leaves her crestfallen, especially when Hiccup says he's burdened the Madrigals long enough (after hearing Stoick's voice in his head saying the exact same thing).
Shipper on Deck: Casita tends to make the tiles pulse under those it approves of. It did it for Augustin and Felix when they were dating Julieta and Pepa and now it starts doing it with Hiccup.
Julieta and Pepa are aware of this and share knowing smirks.
