When Duke Phillips comes down with a terminal disease, Jay becomes determined to cure him.

- George Lucas Altered Version: In an In-Universe version, Duke unveils a new process that allows him to alter old movies to give them new endings (as shown in a clip from Casablanca where Ilsa stays with Rick) and even add product placement if he wanted to. Jay, ever the film purist, strongly objects.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: In-universe. Duke observes that Jay is very popular in France and suggests it's because he reminds them of Babar, king of the elephants.
- A God Am I: After Jay objects to Phillipsvision, Duke declares himself as this right before keeling over.
- Kindhearted Cat Lover: Duke met and befriended Rod McKuen at a convention for this, though Duke doesn't want anyone to find out.
- Mistaken for Gay: Jay suggests Duke make the most of the time he has left, but his delivery makes Duke think he means something else.Jay: I just know there's something you've always wanted to do, but it seemed to frivolous, too daring.
Duke: I'm sorry, Jay. I'm just not attracted to you.
Jay: I wasn't making a pass at you!
Duke: Sure you weren't. - No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Jay finds a cure for Duke Phillips' disease, and Duke agrees to share it with the world. It turns out that most sufferers of Duke's ailment are various dictators, corporate sleaze balls, racists, and poachers. Oops!
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Duke says he's always wanted to tell off his boss. Since he doesn't actually have a boss, he makes Jay his boss just so he can berate him and trash his office.
- Scrabble Babble: Duke tries this, and even has the money to force his new word ("quyzbuk") into the dictionary.
- Smart People Speak the Queen's English: When the raptor reveals It Can Think in the parody trailer for Jurassic Park 2, he speaks in an RP accent while describing his fellows' plan to escape.
- Tempting Fate: Duke collapses on the stage after saying he can do whatever he wants to the movies and declares himself a god.
