  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Cleveland and Donna fear their show's been cancelled.
  • Bulletproof Vest: Worn by Dr. Fist, when getting shot.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Quite literally in this episode. When The Guys first start hiding out on the Broken Stool, Gus warns them all the display guns on the wall are loaded. Cleveland later uses one of these display guns, when confronting the mob.
  • Conservation of Ninjutsu: Completed subverted; Cleveland's goal to fight in a dusty Chinese town against a dozen opponents sees them all instantly converge on and beat him up, leaving him no room to even fight back.
  • Corporate Warfare: Junior and Rallo's food truck vs. Choni's food truck.
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Cleveland started having a brain aneurysm, and the rest of The Guys laughed at him.
  • Evil All Along: Zig Zagged. Cleveland turns out to be working for the Mafia, and shoots Dr. Fist. After The Mafia leaves, turns out this was all an act that Cleveland and Dr. Fist planned on, so the Mafia would leave them alone, thinking the deed has already been done.
  • Friendless Background: Dr. Fist tells the tragic story of when he dropped his phone in the toilet, causing him to lose all his contacts.
  • Frivolous Lawsuit: Rallo filed this against Choni's food truck.
  • Hidden Depths: We delve deep into Dr. Fist's backstory. He explains he used to be named "Greenjarvus Ben-Ellis", but got roped into the New York Mafia. He'd later betray them and hide out in Stoolbend, under the fake name "Chip Fist" to conceal his identity.
  • The Mafia: The New York Mafia is the villain of the episode.
  • Mistaken for Racist: Junior makes sure he avoids this, when conversing with Choni.
Junior: We don't want your kind here, and by that, I mean your food competition and nothing offensive.
  • Suspiciously Apropos Music: The Guys come around to love Dr. Fist, while the karaoke machine has them singing "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor Doctor)".
  • Talking to Plants: Out of desperation for a friend, Dr. Fist asked Cleveland's ficus plant if he'd agree to being his friend.
Cleveland: Aw, that's not even one of our cool plants.
  • Uncle Pennybags: The Fist House is seen for the first time and as it turns out, Dr. Fist is rich.
