Recap / The Cleveland Show S 2 E 5 Little Man On Campus

Go To

Cleveland wants to win the high school baseball game, but none of the students are competent players. He realizes he can disguise Holt as a teenager and make him play, even though this is against the rules.

Tropes:

  • Ignored Aesop: Nobody learns a thing at the end of this episode. Cleveland and Holt get away with cheating, and Junior gets off scot-free for cheating after Donna tampers with his grades.
  • Noodle Incident: Lampshaded. Cleveland apparently has a long-time rival, named Chet Butler. Cleveland even mentioned that he's never been mentioned before, until now.
  • Out of Focus: Roberta has no dialogue in this episode.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Holt Richter's disguise as "Colt Caulflax". Even the name is a dead giveaway.
  • School Grade Hacking: Cleveland brings in Holt as a ringer to help win the state championship, and this inspires Cleveland Jr. to cheat on his final wood shop class assignment to pass the class. When Cleveland finds out about this, he pulls Holt off the team, costing the school the championship, and Cleveland Jr. gets an "F" in woodshop. At the very end, Holt still participates in the high school's rendition of RENT, and the closing text states that Donna used her status as the school's secretary to change Cleaveland Jr.'s grade to a "B" and that "nobody learned anything."
  • The Stool Pigeon: Tim.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Lester believes to have contracted AIDS from watching Glee.
