Recap / The Christmas Raccoons

Go To

Airdate: December 17, 1980

Cyril Sneer is cutting down all of the trees in the Evergreen Forest, and it's up to Bert, Ralph, and Melissa to save the forest.

The Christmas Raccoons contains examples of:

  • Actually a Good Idea: Cedric thinks that Ralph's suggestion of reforestation efforts isn't such a bad idea as he convinces his father he could make more money that way.
  • Appeal to Force: Schaeffer literally grabs Cyril's nose when the magnate seems to be backtracking on his reforestation plan. Cyril quickly backtracks on his backtracking.
  • Christmas Special
  • Cry into Chest: Bert cries into Ralph's chest while Cyril claims that he's cutting down the forest to build a business empire for his son.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: Ralph is annoyed to hear that Cyril chopped down all the trees in the forest to pay for his son's college education and thinks that reforestation efforts would be a better way of making money.
  • Or Was It a Dream?: When the kids wake up the Christmas Tree/Raccoondominium is gone from their den, with their father saying they could find a tree later that day...but some unknown person has replanted thousands of seedlings overnight to replace the stolen trees, and the raccoons are surprised and happy to see that their home has been restored in its proper place when they wake up.
  • Psychic Dreams for Everyone: Both kids shared the dream (?) which comprises the story.
  • Shout-Out: The Raccoondominium has a Saturday Night Fever poster on the wall but with Tony Manero as a raccoon.
