Ren's Parents
In a flashback, Makoto asks Ren about his parents. He reveals that his mother, Akari, was only seventeen when she had him, thanks to a man she liked getting her drunk and raping her. After many hardships, Akari eventually met who Ren considered his true father, Kazushi. Ren then describes his parents and how they believed him when he got framed for assault.
In the present, Ren greets his parents with an embrace. Akari and Kazushi promptly exchange introductions and become acquainted with Makoto. Ren eventually invites his parents to come with him and Makoto to meet up with a couple of his Confidants at the church in Kanda.
Ryuji and Ann have finished their exercises, with the latter talking about her modeling job while preparing to leave the gym. They soon spot Ren, his parents, and Makoto, exiting the building to greet them. After having a conversation, the Thieves decide to plan a welcome party for Akari and Kazushi before going their separate ways.
At their hideout, the Phantom Thieves begin discussing their preparations for the party. Kenzo prepares to leave for home, but the Thieves insist that he can stay around longer to enjoy himself and help out.
Ren and his group arrive at the church, greeting Hifumi and Mishima. Ren then guides everyone outside to an alleyway to demonstrate by having Makoto use the Spellstone. He eventually prompts Mishima to do the same, who reports feeling exhausted after using it. Hifumi gets the same result and theorizes that those who have yet to Awaken would get more tired than full-fledged Persona-users. Ren tells his Confidants to take care of themselves before they leave.
