Recap / The Big Bang Theory S 11 E 3 The Relaxation Integration

Go To

Sheldon is trying to pick an objectively perfect wedding date. Bernadette takes a new co-worker out and gets ambushed by Stuart and Raj who were tipped off by Howard.

Tropes:

  • Jekyll & Hyde: Sheldon worries that his mind has been keeping a personality from him that doesn't have a doctoral degree.
  • One Drink Will Kill the Baby: Bernadette invokes this when she says that she likes to freak people out by drinking cranberry juice from a wine glass.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Amy discovers that Sheldon is a laidback person in his dreams. When she tells Leonard about it he worries it's a brain tumor.
  • Mental World: Sheldon's inner Council of Sheldons votes not to include laid-back Sheldon in The Tag.
  • Me's a Crowd: The Tag features the Council of Sheldons, an imaginary council of separate aspects of Sheldon's personality, including Science Sheldon, Texas Sheldon (wears cowboy boots and hat and speaks with a drawl), Fanboy Sheldon (dressed as Mr. Spock) and Humorous Sheldon (wears a clown nose and has a bicycle horn). They vote not to let Laid-Back Sheldon in.
  • Shout-Out: Galactus devouring planets reminds Howard of Bernadette eating cake.
  • Slapstick: Sheldon went to buy flip-flops, accidentally touched a wet toupée that licked him, and stepped in an ankle-deep puddle of apple juice.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: Penny tries to ease Sheldon's worries about his repressed personality. He assumes she's referring to the theory that the self is an illusion and the mind is made up of different parts that communicate with each other. Penny quickly agrees that that was what she meant.
