"The Cohabitation Experimentation" is an episode of The Big Bang Theory that first aired on October 10, 2016. Directed by Mark Cendrowski. Teleplay by Steven Molaro, Steve Holland and Tara Hernandez, based on a story by Chuck Lorre, David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari.

Amy suggests moving into Sheldon's apartment after hers is flooded. Raj learns the gender of Howard and Bernadette's baby.

Tropes

  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Amy is excited about sharing the same bed with Sheldon. Unfortunately for Amy, Sheldon keeps Amy up with the combination of his bad breath and his tossing and turning, the latter of which resulting in him bumping Amy off the bed. Come the next morning, Amy complains to Penny that she barely got two minutes of sleep time.
  • Innocent Innuendo: Amy's complaint about having little sleep time when sharing the room with Sheldon and Leonard's mention of pulling some muscle. In Amy's case, it's due to Sheldon's bad breath and his tossing and turning disrupting Amy's sleep. In Leonard's case, it's the result of himself and Penny dancing like crazy as celebration to Sheldon being out of their apartment space for the first time.
  • This Is My Chair: First thing Sheldon does upon moving in with Amy is find his personal spot on the couch.
    Sheldon: Like an embassy in a foreign country, this seat is the sovereign soil of my bottom.
  • Third Wheel: Raj comes with Howard and Bernadette to her gynecologist, feeling that he could be helpful as the son of one. Howard and Bernadette, however, just find it intrusive.
  • You Need a Breath Mint: When Sheldon keeps Amy up with his bad breath, Amy does a non-verbal version of this by closing his mouth.
