Recap / The Beatles S 1 E 1

Go To

"A Hard Day's Night":

  • Security Cling: The Beatles tend to cling to each other or leap into one another's arms in scary situations. For example, when spooky noises are heard during their rehearsal.
  • Was Just Leaving: The boys are in Transylvania trekking to a deserted castle so they can rehearse in private. A graveyard is nearby as a stone in the ground of a gravesite opens and a one-eyed hunchbacked figure emerges and asks them if they want something. Stuttering, John answers that they were just leaving. The stranger, very much aware of his appearance, chuckles and reveals that he's the caretaker and that he likes visitors.
    Caretaker: You fellows want something?
    John: W-w-we were just leaving!
Caretaker: No need to rush off on my account. I like to have visitors. Drop in. (chuckles) Being a caretaker here is a lonely lot.

"I Want to Hold Your Hand":

  • I Kiss Your Hand: John does this to the octopus they are serenading. The octopus is its most flattered.
  • Interactive Narrator: The narrator describing the cruise. Eventually, the Beatles complain that he's giving away all their disguises and tell him to talk about some other part of the ship. He politely obliges.
  • Noodle Incident: According to this episode, John was once kissed by an octopus "when he was young".
