Penguin breaks into Wayne Manor while Bruce is being interviewed for a TV show. Bruce must figure out a way to escape the cameras to become Batman.
This episode provides examples of:
- Battle Top: Penguin's umbrella acts as one of these which destroys a few rooms of Wayne Manor.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Penguin's treatment of Alfred when he's tied up is... rather creepy, which becomes more obvious if you imagine a woman in Alfred's place. The POV shot of him stabbing between Alfred's legs makes it all but blatant.
- Goofy Print Underwear: Penguin's orange boxer shorts with yellow spots are exposed two times, thanks to Batman grabbing onto his legs and putting a rope to his waist, on the first and second encounters.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Penguin is really jealous on how Bruce gets all the attention.
- Identity Impersonator: Alfred impersonates Batman to protect the real one's Secret Identity.
- Line-of-Sight Name: After the cameraman comments on it being a dark night, Mel decides to nickname the Batman “the Dark Knight”.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: While he still doesn't actually win, this is probably the only episode to end with the Penguin, usually the show's Butt-Monkey extraordinaire, somewhat satisfied. Sure, he's going back to Arkham, but with the knowledge that he, however temporarily, stole the media spotlight from Bruce Wayne.
