Recap / The Angry Beavers E 14 Bug A Boo

Go To

Before going to bed, Dag finds a strange warning label on one of their Yahoo! bottles: "Keep out of reach of insects". Meanwhile, a cricket makes his way into the lodge, and drinks the leftovers of the Yahoo soda, causing it to grow in size. Freaked out, the cricket runs amok, scaring the living heck out of Dag. Norb doesn't believe there's a giant cricket loose in the dam, but eventually sees it too. The beavers attempt to find a way to rid of the cricket, but Dag realizes it's just scared, and needs to be let out. Afterward Norb has Dag rid of all the bottles, only for Dag to forget to cover the bin, resulting in gigantic bugs throughout the forest.

Tropes featured in this episode:

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Apparently the new formulation of Yahoo causes bugs to grow to enormous size, like the cricket that gets into the Beavers' house.
  • Cartoon Creature: The cricket looks nothing like an actual cricket. It looks more like some kind of beetle.
  • Chirping Crickets
  • Drunk on Milk: Norb seems just a tad drunk at the start of the episode, from drinking so much Yahoo.
  • Here We Go Again!: At the end of the episode, Dagget throws out the bottles, but forgets to put the lid on the recycling bin, causing even more giant bugs to infest the whole forest:
Norb: Did you take care of those bottles, Dag?
Dag: Yep. Threw them out in the recycling bin, just like you said.
Norb: Good, good...(Cut to outside where bugs are crawling into the bin) of course... you remembered to put the lid on the recycling bin, did you Dag?
    Dag: Lid?
    Norb: You idiot...
  • Never My Fault: When it comes out that Dag didn't cover the recycling bin, he claims that Norb didn't say anything about a lid, resulting in the pair starting to squabble.
  • No Peripheral Vision: There are a couple moments in the episode where the giant cricket walks by, and Norb should see it, but somehow does not.
  • Writing Around Trademarks: "Yahoo" soda.
