"I'm not sure searching online for 'meat snowman surprise' would yield the most constructive results!"

After staying up all night, the boys baby-sit Penny's little sister, Polly, and manage to lose her in the blink of an eye.

Tropes:

  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Played with; babysitting Polly causes Gumball and Darwin all kinds of trouble, but only because the brothers are half-asleep and assumed she ran out on them. Polly herself was perfectly behaved.
  • Behind the Black: The Fitzgeralds somehow didn't notice the vehicle perched off-screen on top of the Watterson residence as they walked in.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Gumball successfully babysits Polly without her getting in harm, however Penny is furious for their dangerous misadventures that could've hurt them and she still doesn't forgive him by the end.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Gumball yells at Tina at some point during the episode.
  • Exact Words: Polly tells Gumball and Darwin that they got home by taking the bus. She neglects to mention the bus landed on the Wattersons' house.
  • Exhaustion-Induced Idiocy: Due to Gumball and Darwin's lack of sleep, they constantly black out and proceed to do random things such as build a meat snowman.
  • Furry Confusion: A blue, non-anthropomorphic cat walks by, who Darwin confuses for Gumball and tries to get to wear clothes.
  • Help Mistaken for Attack: Gumball wakes up to find he had apparently beaten a man unconscious. In reality, the man was choking and the "attack" was just Gumball attempting the Heimlich badly. The man wakes up and advances towards him, but Gumball passes out before realizing that he was just hugging him as thanks.
  • How We Got Here: Zig-zagged: Half of the episode consists of Gumball and Darwin repeatedly blacking out and waking up in the middle of a bizarre situation with no context as for what's happening. The last time this happens, they wake back up in the middle of handing Polly back over to Penny and her parents, with Penny demanding to know what happened, which Polly helps with explaining.
  • Non Sequitur:
    • Gumball began constructing the meat snowman completely out of the blue following getting a chill from the refrigerator.
Gumball: (borderline manic) Hey! (begins pulling out meat) Jingle dance! Jingle dance! Jingle in your face! Chilling out like sauerkraut who just caught himself a trout! Hey! Jingle dance! Jingle dance! Jingle in your face!
    • The choking victim, grateful for Gumball and Darwin's help, offers them anything they want. This goes as well as you'd assume.
Gumball: I would like the golden twinkle in an old man's eye as he holds his infant granddaughter.
      Choking Man: What?
Gumball: Okay, then I'd like the power to lay eggs.
Polly: (voiceover) That went on for a while, but you finally settled for a stuffed bullfrog that plays the harp.
    • When asked by a charity worker if they wanted to donate some money to help children, Gumball and Darwin instead decided to do a kissing booth.
Gumball: (to Tina, who says she wants to kiss Darwin) Uh uh uh, sorry, but I'm the only one who's allowed to kiss Darwin. That's in the rulebook. (displays two waffles with staples sticking them together) Right here.
  • Once More, with Clarity: Polly's story shows what happened every time Gumball and Darwin blacked out during the first half of the episode.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: When Polly reveals she was travelling with Gumball and Darwin the whole time:
Gumball: Wait, you were following us the whole time?
Penny: No, Polly was using the Force to appear to you as a hologram.
Gumball: Right, I'm sure there's an explanation for that too.
Penny: [Turns into a minotaur] OF COURSE SHE WAS WITH YOU!
  • Schmuck Bait: The cause of the boys' sleep deprivation is Gumball insisting they finish a video, which is clearly looped, because he wants to see the conclusion.
  • Sleep Deprivation: The events of the episode were all due to Gumball and Darwin staying up all night watching internet videos (well, one incredibly long video) and kept dozing off.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: Sleep Deprivation causes Darwin and Gumball to forget the next several hours of events every time they blink. It's only because of Polly following them that they have the gaps (mostly) filled in.
  • Worst Aid: Gumball and Darwin's attempts at helping a person stop choking on mints; Gumball's attempt at the Heimlich turns into a suplex, and Darwin's attempt is to tell the choking victim to breath in and out. And then when Polly shows up, she tells them they need to do CPR... resulting in Gumball pounding on the guy's chest while Darwin does proper CPR... on his briefcase.
