Gumball learns that Ocho has a famous uncle and goes to great lengths to meet him.
Tropes:
- A Day in the Limelight: Ocho's first major role since "The Phone" all the way back in season 2.
- Brain Bleach: A fairly subdued example. After Gumball meet's Ocho's uncle Mario and finds that he's just a normal (if slightly ugly) person, the next scene shows Gumball using his toothbrush to clean his eyes like it's part of his daily routine, explaining that he wished Mario stopped showing his butt crack.
- Bowdlerise: In the UK reruns, Gumball's fight is edited so he isn't kicked in the crotch, only gets hit with the broom 3 times instead of twelve, and after the cupcake kid is squished, it cuts straight to the library scene so the aftermath isn't shown.
- Some international versions (the Russian and Bulgarian dub, mostly) also cut the part where Ocho pretends to kidnap Gumball as a prank and Gumball suffering PTSD flashbacks from it.
- Cartoon Network Latin America cut the part where the Rotten Cupcake gets decapitated from the weight falling on his (or her) neck, and the aftermath.
- Comic Books Are Real: It's essentially taken for granted that it's even possible for Gumball to meet a character from a video game. Turns out Ocho's uncle isn't that Mario, but this is Elmore, so who knows. Ocho basically is a video game character come to life, and implies his other uncle is Sonic the Hedgehog.
- Continuity Nod: Teri's Side Bet may be a reference to "The Matchmaker" where she pointed out how much Darwin and Gumball have kissed each other.
- False Friend: Gumball pretends to be Ocho's friend to meet his famous uncle.
- Friendship Song: Parodied. Gumball's song "Goodbye" is less about his friendship with Ocho and more about him wanting to end it and the various ways he'd go about it.
- Given Name Reveal: Ocho's real name is revealed to be Harry Tootmorsel.
- Groin Attack: Ocho tells Gumball to fight the Rotten Cupcake kid, and Gumball thinks he agreed to fake the fight. He kicks Gumball in the balls so hard that Gumball's chest is lifted up a foot.
- Here We Go Again!: At the end of the episode, after Gumball realizes Ocho's uncle wasn't the Mario he was thinking of, Ocho tells Gumball about his other uncle, "the blue hedgehog who can run really fast." Gumball looks like he's about to try to win back Ocho's friendship, but decides it's not worth it. That is until he immediately runs back to Ocho in the last second.
- Jerkass Realization: After Gumball's farewell song to Ocho, Ocho finally realizes that he gets too intense and it hurts others around him for it.
- Mistaken for Gay: Teri and Masami see Gumball screaming at Ocho to marry him after hearing his uncle is Mario.Teri: Called it.
Masami: Guess I owe you twenty bucks. - Mistaken for Special Guest: Gumball believes Ocho's uncle Mario is the Mario, and is desperate to be Ocho's friend in order to meet him. When he does, however, it turns out to be another Mario, one who looks more like a Poor Man's Substitute.
- Noodle Incident: Ocho was late because his alarm clock didn't dare wake him up after what happened to the last one.
- Gumball and Darwin recall an incident where Ocho chased down Tobias and did... something to him just because he accidentally bumped him.
- Sadistic Choice: Gumball is kidnapped by someone claiming to be Ocho's previous friend, forcing him to either jump off a cliff or let Ocho be hurt. In reality, it was just Ocho testing Gumball, and he was just standing over a shallow ramp at the skate park.
- Secret Test of Character: Ocho orchestrates.... a rather disturbing one. He kidnaps Gumball and pretends to be Ocho's jealous friend and ''forces Gumball to choose between being spared himself or jumping off a cliff to save Ocho''. Believe it or not, Gumball actually chooses the latter.
- Side Bet: Masami and Teri made a bet in the past about Gumball. Upon seeing Gumball yelling at Ocho to "Marry me!", they conclude that Teri won.
- Sudden Video-Game Moment: When Gumball thinks he's finally gonna meet Mario, he turns pixellated and runs through town as if it was a Super Mario Bros. game, making all the music and sound effects himself.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Ocho's intensity is... rather worrying; he was implied to have done something horrific to Tobias and his alarm clock over mere slights, reveals he takes people's pets hostages and gags them with his childhood blanket and outright traumatizes Gumball with a fake yet elaborate kidnapping prank. Gumball even mentions that Ocho's own parents fear him. There's also the hammer he gave Gumball which, before its' true purpose was revealed, implied Ocho wanted to do something... dirty.Gumball: (about the poster Ocho made him nail to the locker door) Trust me. It's way better than what he suggested I use this for.
