The Addamses have been suffering ennui from the streak of good weather, and things get even worse when Morticia and Gomez worry that Uncle Fester and Grandmama are spoiling the children too much. The concern results in a feud. However, when Gomez and Morticia find out something shocking about the governess they hired for the children, will family protectiveness save the day?
This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
- Bridal Carry: Gomez carries Morticia bridal-style into their room at the Last Chance Hotel.
- Felony Misdemeanor: While settling into the hotel room, Morticia discovers Lurch gave her the governess' bag by accident, and what she finds inside horrifies her: a volume of Mother Goose and a jar of sugarplums!
- Feud Episode: Uncle Fester and Grandmama take offense when Morticia and Gomez hire a governess, following the two expressing concern that Fester and Grandmama are spoiling Pugsley and Wednesday.
- Rain, Rain, Go Away: Inverted for laughs. The trouble begins when the Addamses get restless after too many days of sun and blue skies. Gomez and Morticia hire a governess so they can go catch Hurricane Zsa Zsa elsewhere in the country. At the end, the hurricane arrives. Most of the family gleefully rushes outside and Gomez suggests he and Morticia go up to the attic, where he tore out a part of the roof to make it resemble the Last Chance Hotel.
- Tell Him I'm Not Speaking to Him: Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, and Grandmama have breakfast on opposite sides of the line and ask Lurch to ask the people on the other side for sections of the paper.
- This Is My Side: Uncle Fester paints a line down the middle of the mansion after finding out he and Grandmama can't afford to run away. Even Lurch gets divided in half.
- Satchel Switcheroo: Morticia and the governess have very similar bags, and Lurch puts the governess' bag in the car by mistake, resulting in Morticia taking it on her vacation with Gomez.
