Clarke, Octavia, Raven and Echo struggle with a new foe.
Tropes:
- Brutal Honesty: When Echo asks Bellamy if his new found faith with the Disciples means he would sit back and watch his friends be killed by them he admits that, in order to save all of humanity, he probably would.
- Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Invoked by Cadogen who sends the majority of Clarke's group, with the exception of herself, Raven and Gabriel, to some unknown location and keeps that information to himself so Clarke can't just kill him at the first opportunity.
- Dramatic Irony: Clarke demands that her friends be send somewhere safe before she takes Cadogen to the Flame. They get send to some other location in the universe while Clarke's group goes to Sanctum which arguably is much safer then returning to Sanctum now that Sheidheda is in charge.
- Exact Words: After transporting that majority of Clarke's group to some unknown location Cadogen tells her that he told her he would send them somewhere safe. He never said he'd send them to Sanctum.
- Good Feels Good: A nonverbal reaction but Murphy looks quite happy after the father whose son he saved tells him he was right to believe in him showing that he quite likes not being selfish anymore.
- Hostage Situation: On both ends with Sheidheda taking Murphy hostage to force Emori's hand while Emori threatens to blow the nuclear reactor if he kills Murphy keeping both sides at a stalemate.
- Kneel Before Zod: Sheidheda's first act now that he has taken over Sanctum is to force the various factions to kneel before him or be killed. Murphy, Emori and Nikki all kneel while Nelson and the Children of Gabriel all refuse resulting in all but Luca being killed off.
- So Proud of You: Both Emori and Indra tell Murphy that they are proud of him for risking his life to protect people instead of just thinking about his own survival.
- Sole Survivor: Luca ends up being the only member of the Children of Gabriel to survive Sheidheda's massacre and is taken by Indra to Murphy and the rest of the Sanctum fugitives to keep him safe.
