The Tale of Amatsu no Kuni was Teppen's sixth expansion, and the first half of the Amatsu no Kuni duology. It brought with it the game's sixth post-launch hero, Amaterasu, and was the first card set to add new series to the game. Set in the far-eastern land of Amatsu no Kuni, Amaterasu descends from the heavens to stop the reign of terror brought by the evil Orochi, and the ressurection of the Demon King Oda Nobunaga. The card set added two new Tribes, Kami and Spirits, bringing the total number of tribes to 8.

''The Tale of Amatsu no Kuni" contains examples of:
- And Now for Someone Completely Different: None of the other playable heroes are even referenced in this expansion, putting all its focus on the new franchises that were added.
- Art-Style Clash: Downplayed as Teppen does a relativley good job of changing designs to form a cohesive universe, but Okami's cartoony artstyle still seeps through in their redesigns, especially next to the normal humans of Sengoku BASARA.
- Villain Team-Up: Orochi's forces and Oda Nobunaga's army join together to conquer the land.
- Wutai: The trailer states that Amatsu no Kuni exists on... whatever continent Teppen takes place on, far to the east.
