Go To

Raph must face his fears again when Stockman sends his new insect minions after the team.

  • Accidental Kiss: Raphael kisses a mutant ant, thinking it's Mona Lisa.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: Karai and April fight a swarm of Ant mutants on an I beam. They also help each other perform combo attacks.
  • Badass in Distress: Leo, April, Karai, and Casey all get caught by Baxter and his minions.
  • Bank Robbery: Baxter has his mutant army do this so they can replenish Shredder's money
  • Body Horror: Scumbug's (deformed) human face is still visible in his neck, and apparently conscious...
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: Baxter states that with his new mutant army, he will finally have friends, someone to watch sci-fi movies with, eat candy with, play Mazes and Mutants with, and someone to cause total chaos and destruction.
  • The Bus Came Back
    • In Raph's hallucination, Mona Lisa, Lord Dregg, his soldiers, and Spy-Roach appear
    • Tur-fly-tle makes another appearance, buzz buzz
  • Character Development: Raph overcomes his phobia of insects, Stockman displays that he has apparently become a completely loyal member of the Foot, and Shredder is the nicest he's ever been to any of his lieutenants besides his daughter.
  • Comically Missing the Point: The man Baxter kidnapped is more angry and worried about missing a meeting than the fact he was kidnapped and is being held hostage.
  • Continuity Nod
    • Raph has constant hallucinations of Mona, Dregg, Dregg's soldiers, and Spy-roach.
    • Baxter mentions Mazes and Mutants
    • Leo and Mikey argue over which is the better cartoon, Crognard or Space Heroes
    • Donnie mentions the bug planet, and when Mona Lisa betrayed them
  • Cut a Slice, Take the Rest: Mikey brings in a stack of 6 pizza boxes, give three of them to the others and keeps the remaining 3 for himselfnote . When Raph calls him out on it, Mikey takes a slice from one of his boxes and tosses it to Raph.
  • Face Your Fears: Though he can handle a simple cockroach now, Raph hasn't completely gotten over his fear of insects, especially ones the size of people.
  • Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: Mikey gets Raph to snap out of his Freak Out by dope slapping him.
  • Hollywood Healing: Subverted, Shredder being healed/mutated is slowed due to Stockman using a new type of mutagen, due to the old batch side-effects.
  • Magic Feather: Splinter tells Raph of a Japanese mantra that will supposedly ward off his bug phobia blackouts, which later helps Raph when he fights Baxter and his bug minions. When he later asks Splinter what the mantra translates to, he replies "this means nothing", and that the only power it had was the power Raph gave it himself.
  • Mook Maker: The mutant ant can multiply itself.
  • Not So Above It All: Leo, the one who suggested they look for signs of Shredder, argues with Mikey over which is the better cartoon, Crognard or Space Heroes.
  • Pet the Dog: At the beginning of the episode, Shredder admits his appreciation for Stockman's Undying Loyalty.
  • Your Mind Makes It Real: The mantra Splinter teaches Raph is simply Japanese for "this means nothing", but Raph figured it was a magic chant that helped him overcome his phobia.
