Go To

Baxter Stockman seeks revenge on Fishface and Dogpound as well as the Turtles, and lures them all into a deadly labyrinth. Meanwhile, Splinter has April tryout weapons.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Fishface lets out a little laugh when Raph makes fun of Baxter's habit of adding "of Doom" to everything.
  • Brick Joke: Donnie's imitation of an implosion sound does turn out to be accurate.
  • Call-Back: Stockman and Fishface were last seen in "The Pulverizer", and Dogpound was last seen in "The Alien Agenda".
    • Baxter utilizes a mecha duplicate of the gigantic battle armor from "I Think His Name Is Baxter Stockman", which launches several MOUSERS last seen in "Mousers Attack!", to fight the mutants.
    • Bradford gets the largest spike on his shoulder cut off again, the first time was by Shredder in "Panic In The Sewers", this time was by a laser pendulum.
  • Chain Pain: One of the weapons April tries out is a Kusari-fundo, a length of chain with one weighted end.
  • Continuity Nod: This is the second episode where Baxter is repeatedly called by the wrong name.
  • Death Course: The "deadly labyrinth".
  • Doomy Dooms of Doom: A whole lotta dooms are said during the episode.
  • Enemy Mine: The turtles reluctantly work together with Dogpound and Fishface to escape Stockman's maze.
  • Epic Flail: One of the weapons April practices with while training with Splinter is a Chigriki, a wooden staff with a long weighted chain on one end. She also attempts to try a morning star as large as she is. Hilarity Ensues.
  • Flash Back: When Raph and Fishface are stuck together, the latter explains how he came to work for Shredder.
  • Funny Background Event: During Raphael and Fishface's fight in the opening, a Kraang can be seen kicking a Foot Ninja while he's down.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: By the end, the Turtles, Xever, and Bradford are tired out after their fight with Baxter. They decide that it's just pointless to continue to try and fight, and just decide to go home and fight next time.
  • Mêlée à Trois: The Kraang vs. the Turtles vs. the Foot.
    • Dogpound, Fishface, and Baxter vs. the Turtles turns into Baxter vs. Dogpound and Fishface vs. the Turtles. At least until the teamup.
  • Mirroring Factions: The Cold Opening devotes itself to showcasing the basic structure of the Turtles and the Foot, showing who takes command (Leonardo/Dogpound), the least patient/most temperamental (Raphael/Fishface), and the treatment of, as well as, The Smart Guy (Donatello/Baxter).
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The trailer showed the turtles spying on the Kraang. Not only does the trailer omit Dogpound, Fishface, Stockman, and the maze, but the Kraang are only shown in the intro.
  • Paper Fan of Doom: Well, metal fan, another weapon April practices with. Splinter had intended to give it to his daughter Miwa when she was older, and gives it to April in her memory.
  • Revenge: Baxter's resentment at being mistreated and his grudge with the Turtles finally boils over.
  • Running Gag: Everyone calls Baxter Stockman "Blister Stockboy". This continues the Accidental Misnaming gag first used in"Mousers Attack!"
  • Shout-Out:
Baxter: "Forget it, Leonardo! The walls are magnetically sealed!"
    • The writers admit to having Baxter channel Arcade, an X-Men rogue, when doing this episode.
  • Sinister Scythe: Another weapon April practices with, dual-wielded one-handed war scythes.
  • Start of Darkness: This episode briefly explains Xever/Fishface's back-story, showing that he was stealing when he was a kid at the very least, and got bailed out by Oroku Saki when he finally got caught after a nearly flawless record.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: The main plot of the episode is the Turtles being forced to team up with Dogpound and Fishface to survive Benser Dockmen's Maze of Doom.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Xever's reason for saving Raph from being sliced by a giant fan in Stockman's maze.
  • Training Montage: April with Splinter as they try out various weapons for her to train with. Doubles as What the Fu Are You Doing?, since April is hilariously bad at all but one of them.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Baxter makes his escape with what is basically a high-tech propeller beanie.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: The Kraang disappear from the episode after they escape with their stolen "Sub-spacial Endo-Particle Disruptor". Nobody mentions this again.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Baxter shouts out this upon discovering that the door to escape from the rooftop has been locked.
