Go To

Torbin Zixx tricks the Turtles into helping him to deliver medicine and aid to a distressed planet, in what he calls a "mercy mission". However, the journey isn't plain sailing, as a group of Triceraton thugs show up, demanding to know where Zixx is.

First appearance of Boss Zukko

This episode provides examples of

  • Batman Gambit: Zixx tricks the Turtles into helping him with the shipment by knowing how they'll react to his movements.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Zixx steals a scrambler from O'Neil Tech in the opening in part to lure the turtles onto his ship. He said it was to get his cargo past customs and returns it at the end of the episode. Turns out it was really to prevent the Triceraton's from discovering what the crates were made out of.
  • Cherry Tapping: After the two Triceraton's pummel each other due to Leo's Deadly Dodging, he pokes both of them to knock them down.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Torbin Zixx is fond of using holograms to confuse his opponents (Raph falls for it every time). He lampshades it when he tells a Triceraton "You're ten times stronger than me, of course I'm going to fight smart!"
  • Deadly Dodging: Leo to two Triceratons.
  • Groin Attack: Zixx attacks a Triceraton this way.
  • Hidden in Plain Sight: Zixx's actual cargo is the containers themselves, not what's in them.
  • Hologram: Zixx loves using them.
  • I Lied: Zixx outright admits he lied to the Turtles about the mercy mission because, if he'd told them the truth, they never would have helped him.
  • Kansas City Shuffle: The one time Raph doesn't fall for Zixx's hologram trick is the time that he's not a hologram.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: Don and Raph try to disengage the Triceraton ship, while Leo, Mikey and Zixx deal with the Triceraton boarding party.
  • Techno Babble: Don gives Raph a dose of this when they go to disengage the Triceraton ship.
  • Threat Backfire: While locked in an escape pod, Boss Zukko attempts to intimidate the turtles with We Will Meet Again, only to be shocked into silence by Leo's thoroughly unimpressed response.
Zukko: You've just made yourselves an enemy for life! D'ya hear me!? For LIFE!!!
Leo: (flatly) Get in line. (ejects the pod)
  • Trojan Horse: An Inversion. Zixx's cargo is perfectly innocuous food and medical supplies. The containers are made of powerful, weapons-grade explosive.
