When Ultimate Drako scatters the Turtles across the mutliverse, Leonardo winds up in a most familiar world - the setting of Usagi Yojimbo. Leo hopes Usagi can help him return home, but first he has to help the ronin protect Lord Noriyuki from the hired assassins of Lorb Hebi!

  • Foreshadowing: Leonardo never experiences the strange phase shifting that his brothers did in the prior episodes. The next part reveals he was responsible for the first phase shifts in the hopes of reuniting with them, while Splinter is behind the second, successful attempts.
  • Friendship Moment: After the portal to the Battle Nexus is opened.
    Leo: I can't ask you to go with me, Usagi.
    Usagi: You do not have to ask, my brother. I am going with you. As you say, what are friends for?
  • Furry Confusion: The characters in Usagi's world are anthropomorphic animals, but they ride normal quadrupedal horses...
  • Grew a Spine: Noriyuki cowers and need saving for most of the episode until holding one of Leonardo's swords to Hebi's throat.
  • Hero of Another Story: Usagi's status as this is especially emphasized in this episode. He pledges to help Leo but first he needs to concentrate on his own mission of protecting Noriyuki and getting him to safety from Hebi's forces. Luckily, Leo is there to lend him a hand on this mission.
  • Just in Time: The Shogun and his army arrive at Hebi’s castle as our heroes needed them.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Wearing ninja garb, even as a disguise, as far as Usagi is concerned.
  • Mugged for Disguise: Leo and Usagi mug a couple of Neko Ninja for their outfits so they can sneak into Hebi's fortress undetected. It works, even though Leo's uncovered green hands and feet should give them away...
  • Party Scattering: The Turtles and Master Splinter are scattered throughout time and space by Ultimate Drako.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Lord Hebi's Neko Clan ninjas flee at the end, to his outrage.
  • Shortcuts Make Long Delays: Gen's idea of a shortcut leads them to a cliff over a river.
  • Sssssnaketalk: Hebi predictably speaks like thisssss.
  • Stop Being Stereotypical: Leo makes a point of stating that Hebi's behavior doesn't help the reputation of the cold-blooded.
  • Trap Is the Only Option: When Hebi sends Usagi a note telling him Tomoe Ame is alive and to be executed, Lord Noriyuki insists they rescue her, to which Leonardo replies that it is obviously a trap. They go anyway.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Leonardo thinks he can take Hebi easily due to his lack of arms but quickly ends up constricted.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Hebi after the Shogun's army arrives. His calm demeanor completely vanishes. He freaks over his forces abandoning him, attempts to kill Noriyuki in a rage, and vows revenge before slithering off.
  • We Will Meet Again: Hebi vows this is not over before fleeing.
