Dregg and Mung conspire to turn Leonardo is a radioactive monster while the other Turtles try to cure him of his rampant mutations.

- Applied Phlebotinum: Mutanite is the prime ingredient of Krang's mutagen and it can only be found in Dimension X. Dregg and Mung try to recreate its effects using Plutonium, an element more commonplace on Earth.
- Tempting Fate: As April secretly records the activities of one of New York's biggest Chop-Shops, she remarks to herself that this will make for a normal, turtle-free story. Then immediately Dregg's ship crashes through the wall and starts firing lasers everywhere, taking out a captured Leonardo with the intent on mutating Leonardo into one of his minions.
