- Artistic License – Art: The episode presents The Last Supper as though it were painted on canvas, when the real painting was painted on a wall. Also, The Last Supper is actually in a convent in Milan, kept there all this time due to its delicate condition. The Last Supper being anywhere else would just be a worthless copy.
- Beethoven Was an Alien Spy: Lampooned. At the end of the episode, Michelangelo forgot to take off one of the Crab Nebulas off of The Last Supper, leading to the art expert to assume that Leonardo da Vinci was an alien.
- Self-Deprecation: When the Turtles are chased by Italian photographers, Michelangelo asks "Who'd pay to see a movie about mutant turtles?"
