- Contrived Coincidence: What are the odds that the Turtles (and Splinter) go to Paris for vacation at the same time as the Shredder needing to use the Eiffel Tower for another "free the Technodrome" plot? Even better, April, Erma and Vernon are sent there by Burne to cover the Bastille Day ceremonies.
- Didn't Think This Through: Krang had picked the Eiffel Tower because it's the biggest single mass of metal he could find. What he didn't take into account was that even then, the Technodrome is still too heavy for it to lift. When the Eiffel Tower is magnetized at full power, it dislodges from the ground and is nearly pulled into Dimension X.
- Distress Ball: Vernon has done live coverage in past episodes without much issue, but here he starts getting cold feet when he starts covering the Bastille Day ceremonies.
- Green Around the Gills: The Turtles find themselves seasick on the ship.
- Monumental Theft: Shredder and Krang's plan is to use the Eiffel Tower pull the Technodrome free by magnetizing it.
