The scientist Herman J. Melish begs for the Turtle's help in retrieving an incredibly dangerous device. Meanwhile, Baxter Stockman and his computer companion Z find a dimensional wormhole back to Earth.
Tropes:
- Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Baxter Stockman flip-flops between a single-minded drive for vengeance and an insatiable hunger for sweets.
- Batman Gambit: To bring Shredder to him, Z advises Baxter to capture the Turtles and threaten to destroy them unless Shredder showed himself. Sure enough, Shredder's Revenge Before Reason tendencies lured him in.
- Big "SHUT UP!": Raphael yells this at Donatello when he repeats his "destruction of property" speech for the last time.
- Continuity Nod: The volcano eruption from "The Dimension X Story" is mentioned, with it revealed to have badly damaged the Technodrome's main computer.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Upon learning that Melish had a Self-Destruct Mechanism for his Energy Converter, the Turtles are incredulous that he didn't do it to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. Melish explains that it cost him a lot to build and was hoping to make a big deal off of it.
- Dumbass Has a Point: Bebop and Rocksteady, of all people, try to talk Shredder out of his Revenge Before Reason pursuit.
- Hard Light: The Energy Convertor can turn energy into matter and vice-versa, Z creating a humanoid body with it.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: Believing that Baxter's ultimatum won't work because Shredder is in Dimension X, Raphael tries to tell him that Shredder wasn't coming. Less than a second later. Shredder, Rocksteady, and Bebop bust through the wall.Raphael: (To the audience) So sue me.
- The Mind Is The Plaything Of The Body: Due to his Sanity Slippage, Baxter starts to exhibit traits associated with his mutation, namely a fly's interest in sugar.
- Oh, No... Not Again!: Said by Baxter after he's stuck between a void again at the end of the episode.
- Strange Minds Think Alike: Both Donatello and Rocksteady think that "the destruction of other people's property, for whatever reason, is wrong."
- Took a Level in Dumbass: His time in the Void Between the Worlds most likely did a number on his sanity, as Baxter Stockman can't retain a single thought in his head for very long, is Super Gullible and Z has to act as his minder.
