The Shredder summons an ancient ninja spirit to teach his minions the art of ninjitus. Meanwhile, Splinter suffers from amnesia and it's up to the turtles to restore their rat master.
Tropes:
- Badass in Distress: While the rest of the turtles and Splinter retreat, Raphael is paralyzed by Shibano to be used as a living practice dummy for Bebop and Rocksteady.
- Evil Mentor: Shredder summons the restless spirit of Shibano, founder of the Foot Clan, to teach Bebop and Rocksteady ninjitsu.
- Fighting Clown: The Kur-Li Maneuver, a top-tier kata only the head of the Foot Clan would know, involves paralyzing their target with hand motions, and then makes a fool out of the target Three Stooges-style. Can't argue with results, right?
- Identity Amnesia: Splinter suffers from total amnesia from a special gas grenade used on him.
- My Master, Right or Wrong: While Shibano is willing to use Raphael as a target for Bebop and Rocksteady's training, he only seems to be doing it because he believes that Shredder is the current leader of the Foot. When Splinter reveals that he knows the Kur-Li Maneuver, a skill only the true leader of the Foot Clan would know, he quickly turns on the Shredder and commends Yoshi for following the noble path.
- Recap Episode: A chunk of the episode has Leonardo re-explaining their origins to an amnesiac Splinter, complete with footage from older episodes.
