Tropes

  • From Bad to Worse: Shredder has gotten his helmet back, uses it to trap the turtles in a slowly shrinking impenetrable (from the inside) bubble, plans to conquer the city, and worse, with both the helmet and the Sarnath-O-Meter in his hands, it will cause a gigantic explosion when in contact.
  • Hat of Power: Shredder's plan is to attach the Eye of Sarnoth onto his helmet so that he can control its power with his thoughts.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Everyone groans at Raphael's "net-profit" pun.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Baxter ditches Shredder who's angry over losing his helmet and ignoring Baxter's attempt to explain that he's got the Sarnath-o-meter. After getting the helmet from Blodgett, Baxter decides to keep it for himself.
  • Oh, No... Not Again!: Blodgett is anguished over losing yet another job, the latest being the driver of the Channel 6 News van, which he sank into the harbor in a panic.
  • Reality Warper: The complete Eye of Sarnoth allows the Shredder to alter and control matter at will, bringing to life a dragon from a take-out box and sending it after the turtles.
  • Spanner in the Works: Blodgett, who briefly possessed the helmet, discovers it has no effect on gold. He tells the Turtles, who protect themselves in gold-plated armor to foil Shredder's plan.
  • Story Arc: This marks the end of the Eye of Sarnoth arc.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Verne makes no bones about how angry he is at Blodgett losing the news van in the harbor and has him fired.
