Recap / Teen Titans Go S 7 E 12 T Is For Titans

Go To

The Titans are tricked out of the T-shaped Titan Tower by a group of toads, who claim they were the original occupants and that the building is actually the Toad Tower. While trying to get it back, it turns out there are others that claim to be what the T is for, such as Tax Accountants, Thunderclouds, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Tropes:

  • Combat Pragmatist: When the various "T" groups start fighting for control of the Tower in the climax, the Toads immediately hide in a nearby bush and wait for everyone else to take each other out before taking on the last group standing, the Teen Titans.
  • Dark Horse Victory: At the end of the episode, destruction to the island itself shows that the "T" was actually a partially-buried "J". Cue Jaleel White, who shows up via jetpack to claim he's the original owner of the tower, and then successfully kicks everyone else out before saying "Did I do that?"
  • Hate Plague: One of the Toads' plans to boot the Titans out is to use a magic Toad Stone to turn the environment toxic. However, rather than turning the Tower into a swamp, it makes the Titans start fighting with each other, causing a "toxic" work environment.
  • Rhymes on a Dime: The head Toad, Croak, makes a lot of his threats in rhyme. At one point he even has his own musical number about kicking the Titans out of the tower.
  • Unknown Rival: The Toads had been trying to evict the Titans from "their" tower for eight whole years, but the Titans only find out about them at the start of the episode.
