The other Titans are concerned when they can hear Beast Boy's brain literally rattling in his head, and encourage him to gain a hobby so it doesn't completely shrivel up. Beast Boy decides to take up gardening, but this leads to a tree growing in his head, not only producing head fruit but also rendering Beast Boy brainless.
- Hollow-Sounding Head: Beast Boy's "rattle" is from him shaking his tiny brain around to keep it from getting into the clouds.
- Literal Metaphor: The Titans find that Beast Boy's brain was indeed trying to get in the clouds.
- Literal-Minded: Beast Boy takes "using your head" very literally, as in headbutting everything.
- Organ Autonomy: Beast Boy's brain is sentient, and was plotting to escape from Beast Boy's head the whole time, leaving Beast Boy unconscious.
- Suicidal "Gotcha!": Beast Boy's brain does this by jumping off a cliff and landing on a bird, crying out "FREEDOM!"
- Who Even Needs a Brain?: The Titans are unable to recover Beast Boy's brain after its Suicidal "Gotcha!", so they instead stick a maraca in his head to replace the rattling, with Beast Boy regaining consciousness and unable to tell the difference.
