Sydney surprises Max on his birthday with a visit from Leo, but when his son is hesitant about their move back to Portland, he asks Sydney and Olive to sabotage the move with disastrous results. Meanwhile in 1992, Max tries to help Leo thwart his plans to enroll in a private school.
