When Cheyenne keeps taking shifts despite being dangerously close to giving birth, the other employees become concerned about Cloud 9's lack of paid maternity leave. Meanwhile, Dina tries to deal with the loss of her power following her demotion.
Tropes:
- Double-Meaning Title: Referring both to Cheyenne's baby being born, and how Cloud 9 takes advantage of its workers.
- Artistic License – Biology: In real life, labor takes several hours, and they likely would have had enough time to get Cheyenne to the hospital.
- Insistent Terminology: Steve is adamant that he is not a Union-buster, then proceeds to host a lengthy and agressively anti-union seminar.
- Instant Birth: Just Add Labor!: Double Subverted. Cheyenne starts having contractions and the store panics, expecting her to give birth right there and then. It turned out to be false labor. The next day, she actually does give birth right in the store.
- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Glenn suspends Cheyenne with pay as a substitute for maternity leave. This gets him fired.
- So What Do We Do Now?: The employees stage a triumphant walkout in support of Glenn...and then have no idea what to do afterwards.
