- As the Good Book Says...: Donna sways Pastor Don from calling a lawyer in part because she knows an Evil Lawyer Joke from the Bible by heart.
- Dirty Cop: The "Butterfly Killer" turns out to be an FBI Agent who's formed an alliance with literal monsters.
- Find the Cure!: For Doug's vampirism after Marlon infects him.
- Internal Reveal: Doug has never known about monsters and hunting before. When he finds out, and after he's temporarily stricken with vampirism, it ends their relationship.
- murder.com: The Butterflly's victims are tortured on a live feed and their meat is auctioned off to online bidders.
