Recap / Strong Bad Email E 4 Homestar Hair

Go To

Airdate: Thursday, September 27, 2001

Sender: Unknown.

Strong Bad: (singing) I check the email once, I check the email twice, doo doo doo, doo doo doo...

Instead of a regular message, Strong Bad ends up receiving a Hairstyle Runner design, much to his frustration.

Strong Bad: Oh man! I swear if I get another one of these freakin' "Hairstyle Runners" from you guys... (types "delete that crap", the image disappears with the message "crap deleted") I'm gonna have to start busting some heads, okay? I mean, how come you people never play my game, man? I never get any Strong Libs in my email. I mean, there's this whole game out there that's all for me that you guys can fill out, you know, and like, send me some hilarious crap or something. Now you got me all cheesed off! I'm gonna play some "Temple of Apshai". Forget you guys!
(The Paper comes down)

Tropes

  • Early-Installment Weirdness:
    • In this sbemail the Tandy (Strong Bad's computer) is capable of displaying the full-color picture of the eponymous "homestar hair" attachment when in later sbemails it displays graphics in monochrome green blocks.
    • Strong Bad deletes said attachment by typing "delete that crap" and it disappearing silently, rather than typing "DELETED!" with a loud, signature klaxon like in later sbemails.
  • Noodle Incident: Strong Bad's reaction implies that he's gotten Hairstyle Runner attachments before.
  • Pac Man Fever: Strong Bad settles down to play some Temple of Apshai, but the graphics that come up on the Tandy are actually from Chaos: Battle of the Wizards for the ZX Spectrum.

Strong Bad: Oh, my hit points are, like, inexcusable in this dungeon, man. I need to find some elixir or something.
