Recap / Strong Bad Email E 34 Weird Dream

Go To

Airdate: Monday, July 1, 2002

Sender: Marie

Since the Tandy 400 is incapacitated, Strong Bad has to use Tangerine Dreams, The Cheat's iMac, to answer an email... or at the very least, he tries to:

Strong Bad: Time to check the email! (attempts to type "run "strongbad's_email", nothing happens) Time to check the email! (tries again, same result, begins banging on the keyboard) TIME. TO. CHECK. THE. EMAIL.

According to Strong Bad, old Tangerine Dreams has "too much computer and not enough typewriter" for his tastes, so he needs a bit of help from The Cheat. Fortunately, The Cheat manages to bring up an email from Marie asking Strong Bad about the weirdest dream he's ever had. Apparently, one night after eating nothing but pudding pops all day, Strong Bad had a particularly bizarre dream, with The Cheat providing a visual aid of just what it was about:

Strong Bad: The United States in tight-white brand underdrawers. Briefly, let's discuss what this dream means... (chuckles) No, really, you guys can interpret this one how you want. Me, I blame the pudding pops. Okay, so... maybe I shouldn't have shared that with you guys. Uh... See you next week.
(The Paper comes down)

Tropes:

  • Acid Reflux Nightmare: Strong Bad blames his dream on the fact that all he had to eat the day before was thirteen pudding pops.
  • Comedic Underwear Exposure: Strong Bad's weirdest dream involved "The United States in tight-white brand underdrawers."
  • Disco Dan: Strong Bad complains to the Cheat "Your computer has too much computer in it and not enough typewriter."
  • Parental Bonus: At the end, Strong Bad quips "How's it going, Texas?", drawing attention to the rather phallic bulge in the underdrawers.
  • Pun: Strong Bad says of his dream of the United States in a pair of tighty-whitey briefs "Briefly, let's discuss what this dream means..."
  • Shout-Out: While trying to bring up his email, Strong Bad references the classic "Time to make the donuts" commercials for Dunkin Donuts.

Strong Bad: How's it going, Texas?
