You know, for the better part of two years, I imagined what it would be like the day I finally got back to Atlantis. This isn't exactly how I pictured it.
— Dr. Carson Beckett
Tropes:
Actor Allusion / Shout-Out: Beckett mentions feeling like "A Dog's Breakfast", a reference to the independent film that Paul McGillion starred in, featuring several cameos from Stargate alumni and written by David Hewlett.
Ambiguous Situation: Sheppard goes back to Todd off-screen to try and use his network again to locate Teyla. Todd claims his contacts haven't heard anything and Sheppard thinks the Wraith's lying. It's never confirmed whether Todd was being truthful or not.
Bad Present: Due to having been held prisoner for two years, this ends up being Beckett's reaction to not only learning that he's a clone, but that the original Carson is dead, as is (supposedly) Dr Weir.
Stunned Silence: Zig-zagged. Beckett demanding to talk to Weir triggers one for McKay who has been struggling with her disappearance/death all season. His silence goes on for so long that Beckett bluntly asks, “What?” This prompts McKay to answer vaguely which makes Beckett even more annoyed and wanting to know why he can’t see her, leaving McKay with no choice but to tell him she’s dead. This revelation causes Beckett to be stunned into silence and sit down from the shock of learning one of his closest friends is dead.
