The Warp...is different. Here in this new galaxy, the Immaterium seems less like a Daemon-riven, God-churned storm, and more a drifting, foggy ocean of souls, a netherworld rather than a hell. And yet this makes itself it's own kind of prison, a trap with its jaws closing shut, and the only way out may be to do the last thing anyone would desire while traversing the writhing Warp...

The Republic fleet, no, the armada has assembled! Dr. Shina, Jedi Knight Renphi, and the thousands that are now with them prepare and discuss as the outsider fleet draws closer and closer. But they cannot be prepared for what they will witness, and cannot predict who will draw first blood...But Drawn It Will Be.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Call-Back: The line "Good soldiers follow orders", which was first uttered by Tup in The Clone Wars episode "The Unknown" when his malfunctioning inhibitor chip activated Order 66 early, makes a return at the end of this episode where it's the last thing that goes through Captain Kraken's mind before he hyperspace rams the Bellejore into the Atlas of Steel under Palpatine's orders.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends right as Captain Kraken activates the hyperdrive of his Venator and rams into the Atlas of Steel, dashing any hope of a peaceful first meeting between the Republic and the Imperium.
  • Continuity Nod: When Shina inquires as to where Gaphin is, Renphi mentions that he is inside his quarters meditating and can't stop until an hour has passed by. In the previous episode, Renphi had said that if he found Gaphin helping out Shina in the ship's lab, he would reduce his punishment time to three hours of meditation instead of three days.
  • Hold Your Hippogriffs: Dr. Shina says "By the Core..." upon seeing the size of the KDY defense fleet which had answered her call for naval reinforcements.
  • Scientist vs. Soldier: This type of dynamic occurs between Dr. Shina and Jedi General Renphi regarding the Atlas of Steel when they detect it exiting the Warp near Pzob. In an inversion of how this trope usually goes, Shina is the one advocating for the Republic fleet to launch a preemptive strike against the extragalactic ship due to perceiving the Imperials as a threat, while Renphi is the one who wants to initiate a peaceful first contact with the "outsiders".
  • Switching P.O.V.: The episode starts out being told from Orion's perspective, then switches over the Dr. Shina about halfway through, before finally ending with the perspective of Captain Kraken.
