This episode aired December 1, 2019.

With the Colossus running low on money and the Aces beginning to go stir-crazy, Hype has a proposition for Captain Doza: that he take the station to Vranki's Casino, where Hype used to race before coming to Castilon. There, the Aces can race for money, solving both problems. Doza reluctantly agrees, but warns Hype that he had better not make him regret this. But when the casino owner, the Hutt Vranki the Blue, attempts to cheat the Colossus out of money and force Hype to stay behind, the Aces are caught in a bind as they try to win a race so everyone can leave...

Tropes:

  • Asteroid Thicket: Vranki's Casino is located in one, the Voxx Cluster, and the race runs through it.
  • Big Fun: The façade Vranki puts on.
  • Brick Joke: At the beginning, Captain Doza, Kaz, Torra, Yeager and Hype pass by a lone patron on a slot machine. The very last shot of the episode is of that person finally winning a jackpot.
  • Call-Back: In "The Relic Raiders", Captain Doza mentioned that the Colossus was nearly out of money. In order to get some more, the Aces have to put their racing skills to use.
  • Casino Episode: The Colossus resistance visits a casino in order to get more money, although by racing instead of outright gambling.
  • Chekhov's Gun:
    • Neeku getting distracted by a hologame inside the casino early on seems to just be Neeku being Neeku, but then it turns out that the game runs on the same algorithm that Vranki's racing droids do, allowing Neeku to give Kaz and the other Aces some assistance in trying to win.
    • During the first race, Hype loses when the racing droid unfolds and grabs onto the Green Ace. In the final race, Kaz takes advantage of this feature to win.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Vranki's Casino has been dead since the war started because all of the rich people are going to Canto Bight.
    • Vranki has some Kowakian ape-lizards at his casino as security.
    • Vranki's droid racers appear similar to the vulture droids utilized by the Separatists.
  • Fixing the Game: Fitting for a Casino Episode, Vranki's Casino has everything rigged, including the hologames and the racing circuit. The Colossus residents resort to some cheating of their own to win.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Kaz is able to win the final race by cutting the course, and when Vranki protests, Hype reminds him that he himself said that "anything could happen" in his races when called out on his own cheating earlier. Vranki grudgingly concedes the point.
  • Human Shield: When the racing ring turns out to have built-in blasters, Kaz shields the Fireball from the oncoming fire with the racing droid before Neeku manages to deactivate the ring.
  • I Take Offense to That Last One: After Vranki cheats the first race, Hype calls Vranki a dirty, slimy cheater. Vranki takes offense to being called slimy.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Subverted with Vranki the Blue. He deliberately tries to come off as rather atypical for a Hutt and seems to be much more easy-going. While he isn't a ruthless crime lord, he's a different kind of slimeball by being a really shifty casino owner that rigs every game in the casino.
  • No One Gets Left Behind: Captain Doza is forced to try and re-negotiate terms with Vranki because he, and the others, refuse to leave Hype behind at the casino.
  • Space Mines: Vranki is shown using these during Bo's race (to great success) and Kaz's leg of the Voxx Vortex 5000 (with considerably less success).
  • Status Quo Is God: There was absolutely no doubt Doza wouldn’t end up losing any of his Aces.
  • Title Drop: When Kaz and Torra propose new terms for the last race, with the highest stakes, in order to get everyone back, Vranki dubs it the "Voxx Vortex 5000".
