Go To

The last of twelve shorts part of the first season, released on YouTube December 31, 2018.

Kaz and Torra prepare for launch in their respective ships, the Fireball and Blue Ace, as Torra reminds Kaz that this is not a race, she's just helping him test out the Fireball's engines. Kaz points out that his engines may not even start, but if the test does turn into a race, he's going to win. Torra retorts that he definitely won't, she will. They launch. Watching the two ships head out, Tam makes it clear to Neeku that she's not happy he let Kaz take out "her" ship again. Over the ocean, Torra leads Kaz through a winding flight path, with the two eventually turning towards the Colossus again. Torra tells Kaz to pull up since they're approaching the platform, but when he tries, the control stick breaks in Kaz's hands. When Tam sees the ship hurtling towards her and Neeku, she runs for it, having to drag Neeku along since he has little sense of danger. Kaz, jamming the broken throttle handle onto the base in an attempt to regain any sense of control, manages to get enough back to lightly crash the Fireball into the hangar on its landing gear, knocking over a rolling staircase. As Tam approaches, unhappy, Kaz pops out of the cockpit and proudly announces the ship is still in one piece — only for the landing gear to collapse, causing the canopy to fall and knock Kaz back down into the cockpit.

Tropes:

  • Continuity Nod: Torra reminds Kaz that their flight is not a race, unlike the first time they flew against each other. Tam also, yet again, refers to the Fireball as "her" ship.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Kaz announces, after lightly crashing in the hangar, that the Fireball is still in one piece, only for the ship to break some more.
  • Irony: The flight test is intended to try out the Fireball's engines, and that's what Kaz and Torra are concerned will fail. The trouble comes when the notoriously ramshackle ship's control handle gives way.
  • Oh, Crap!: Kaz, when the control stick breaks in his hands; and Tam, when she sees the barely in control Fireball heading in her direction.
