- Star has forgotten that she can do magic without her wand when triggered, which might have helped with Cloudy. Though arguably she probably still doesn't know how to tap into the magic without the wand.
- Also, Star has forgotten about how using magic to speed up her chores or making life easier can backfire from "Marco Grows A Beard", especially with the wand being broken.
- Bad Guy Bar: Ludo goes into one run by rats in order to show off his wand's power.
- The Bully: Ludo has remained this, and is twice as much with the wand's power.
- Cue the Falling Object: Marco's parents come back to their house and find it in complete shambles... just as the cupola above Star's room crashes to the ground.
- Easily Forgiven: Mr. and Mrs. Diaz forgive Star for trashing the house instead of cleaning it, and pitch in to help with the mess she made. It helps that Star also pitches in, setting aside the wand in favor of sweeping with an ordinary broom.
- Good Colors, Evil Colors: It seems that magic used in anger emits a Sickly Green Glow, while magic powered by positive emotions is bright pink.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Star trying to angrily banish Cloudy just makes him bigger, stronger, and meaner.
- The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Glossaryck offers no help at all due to suffering a head injury. Star leaves him alone since he's spouting one negative Ice-Cream Koan after another.
- The Pollyanna: Mr. and Mrs. Diaz come home expecting their house to be clean and instead see a mess. What do they do? Start helping with the cleaning and saying in a cheerful tone that it will take all weekend to clean up by hand.
- The Power of Friendship: Star has trouble using her magic properly until she sees Marco endangered by her spells going wrong.
- The Power of Hate: Ludo is able to activate his wand's power when he gets really hurt or angry.
- Rodents of Unusual Size: The rats Ludo meets are the size of a cat, which is about Ludo's size.
- Took a Level in Badass: Ludo continues this trend after his last episode appearance.
