Janeway plans a rescue mission for the cadets stranded on Solum.
Tropes:
- Bad "Bad Acting": The Doctor actually does a decent job passing as Janeway, except when he has to fake her getting injured and begins to provide a medical diagnosis along with cries of pain.
- Brought Down to Normal: Wesley is temporarily unable to use his powers, which means he has to walk and pilot shuttle to move.
- Call-Back: During The Teaser, Janeway and Chakotay reminisce about their time on the original Voyager and how they returned to Earth.
- Restraining Bolt: Ascencia managed to capture a Weaver and equipped it with a collar that apparently prevents it from escaping the arena. After the collar is damaged when fighting the heroes, the Weaver proceeds to break loose and attacks its former guards.
- Riddle for the Ages: It is never explained how Ascencia managed to capture and control a Weaver.
- The Teaser: For the first time in the series, the episode does not start with the Title Sequence.
