A terrorist group from Berlint University targets Minister Brantz in order to start a war between Westalis and Ostania.

Tropes present in Inusan Crisis Arc:

  • Bad Future: In one of the futures Bond has a vision of, the terrorist plot succeeds. Dozens of lives (including Loid's) are taken, and the war is all but inevitable. Luckily, Anya is able to avert the crisis.
  • Big Friendly Dog: Despite being trained for bombing operations, Bond defies Keith and willingly helps Anya to stop his terroristic goals.
  • Cerebus Syndrome: This arc marks the beginnings of the manga taking a darker tone, where college students plan to start a war between Westalis and Ostania as well as them trying to kill Anya for overhearing their plans.
  • Kid Hero: Deconstructed. While there's no question the day couldn't have been saved without Anya, she's unable to do much on her own.
  • Multiple-Choice Future: Bond's visions of the future are mutable. This comes in handy, as his vision of a dark future helps Anya save Loid's life.
  • Nightmare Face: After Yor rescues Anya from Keith and another terrorist, Keith tries siccing one of his dogs on her. Yor scares it away with a face that borders on inhuman, to the point where Anya begins crying in terror.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: Despite supposedly wanting to kill Brantz and start a war to crush Westalis for Ostania, Keith doesn't care about them as he mused to himself that Ostanian citizens should be proud to die for their country.
  • Right-Wing Militia Fanatic: A group of college aged nationalists/isolationists, led by Keith Kepler, desire to bring Ostania to her former glory and end the collusion between Ostania and Westalis by starting a war; Keith's idea of carrying this out involves bombs strapped to dogs in an attempt on the life of the Westalian Foreign Minister.
  • Terrifying Rescuer: After saving Anya from Keith and his dogs, Yor flashes a Nightmare Face towards them, scaring them as well as scaring poor Anya.
  • Undying Loyalty: The college terrorists genuinely believe that Keith plans to make Ostania reach new heights in glory, and refuse to sell them out. Loid has to manipulate one into believing that Keith sold them out to get crucial information out of him.
  • War Is Hell: Handler gives a very graphic account of what it costs to be in a war, scaring the would-be college terrorists into silence.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Keith is willing to kill Anya if it stops her from telling others about their plans.
