Tropes in this episode include:

  • The Aloner:
    • Before meeting Loid and Anya, Yor never connected with anyone in her life apart from her brother.
    • Becky also counts since she didn't get along with any of her peers until she met Anya.
  • Amusing Injuries: Loid takes a big kick to the chin from his drunken wife. It results in a giant swollen bump on his chin that looks like a butt.
  • Call-Back:
  • Child Hater: Delightfully subverted with Franky. He "claims" that he's no babysitter, but everyone can see him having a wonderful time playing with Anya and Bond.
  • Cool Old Lady: Becky's Number One Butler is an elderly woman named Martha. She even helps her Small Lady in accepting Anya's gift despite her hesitance.
  • Costume-Test Montage: Anya tries a variety of outfits and accessories while shopping with Becky.
  • Crush Blush: Damian gets this way after seeing how happy Anya looks in the end.
  • Dinner and a Breakup: Yor thinks this trope is in play and Loid is about to dump her when he decides to take her out for a drink. She is completely wrong about it.
  • Downer Beginning: Yor kicks off the episode looking miserable over her husband's relationship with Fiona while Loid overhears some of his neighbors gossip about him being unfaithful to Yor.
  • Dissonant Serenity: One of the neighbors casually mentions how a neighboring woman sold her husband to the Secret Police.
  • Drowning Her Sorrows: The Thorn Princess guzzles down hers' and Loid's drinks so she can prepare herself for the upcoming dumping.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: After explaining that the students will attend an end-of-the-year party with their parents and family members, Becky realizes that she'll have the opportunity to meet her precious Prince Loid.
  • Fashion-Shop Fashion Show: Becky gets this montage when she decides to look for clothes for herself.
  • Flashback Cut: Martha remembers how haughty and closed off Becky was like before she came to Eden's College.
  • Friendship Moment: After Becky asks the pink-haired telepath if she was bored with their shopping trip, Anya happily assures her that she had a wonderful time with her friend.
  • Friendship Trinket: At the end of their shopping spree, the two girls buy each other Mr. Sheep keychains that they wear on their schoolbags.
  • From the Mouths of Babes: Anya openly wonders if her parents are "shacking up" somewhere as the night grows late. Franky wonders where she learned that term and Anya mentions that she picked it up from her friend Becky.
  • Girl's Night Out Episode: The second skit features Becky engaging in some girl time with Anya via shopping.
  • Happy Flashback: While knocked out, Loid dreams of his childhood when he was comforted by his mother.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Played for Laughs. Anya accepts to herself that she won't be able to earn eight Stellas because of her horrible grades and inability to excel at a talent.
  • Honey Trap: During their date, Yor gets drunk when she asks if Loid is in love with Fiona, and makes the decision that she should walk away since she'll just be getting in the way of his happiness. Loid interprets this as Yor having fallen in love with him for real, and as Twilight, he decides to capitalize on this by taking advantage of Yor's emotional state, and for the sake of his (fake) marriage/Operation Strix, he tells her he doesn't love Fiona, because he's fallen in love with her and proposes that they should marry for real. Loid's scheme ends up backfiring because of Yor's romantic inexperience, combined with all the booze in her system, results in her getting nervous and sends him flying by reflexively kicking him in the face, which makes Loid think she rejected his advances. However, when she sobers up the next morning, they clear up the situation.
  • Identity Impersonator: During her Fashion-Shop Fashion Show, Becky briefly considers dressing like Yor to impress her Loid.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: In her drunken state, Yor begins to sob uncontrollably while ranting about her failure to live up to Loid's expectations.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Yor begins to think Loid would rather be with Fiona after the latter planted seeds of doubt by making the former think Loid is unhappy in his marriage. This is made worse when the nosy neighbor women jump to the conclusion, and tell Yor that Loid may be having an affair with Fiona. To smooth things over, and prevent this rumor from reaching Yuri and getting the Secret Police involved, Loid takes Yor on a date, where she downs both her and Loid's drinks and drunkenly cries as she states she'll leave so he can live happily with Fiona. Loid interprets this as her having fallen in love with him and decides to take advantage of the situation by telling her he's in love with her and proposes they marry for real. This backfires when she gets nervous and reflexively kicks him in the face.
  • Luminescent Blush: Yor turns redder than her victims on a killing spree after her husband grabs her hand and confirms his love for her.
  • Mama Bear: Reconstructed. Yor worries that she's too violent and strong to be a decent mother and wife. But Loid assures her that Anya thinks highly of Yor for her strength and how she always feels safe whenever she's around her mother.
  • Mascot: The mascot of the department store Becky rented out is a giant fuzzy sheep.
  • The Matchmaker: Becky's mission is to give Anya a makeover so that Damian would fall in love with her.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: After hearing Yor express fear about being tossed aside, the Gossipy Hens believe that Loid cheated on her with Fiona.
  • No Guy Wants an Amazon: Another reason that fuels Yor's insecurity is the belief that her husband isn't fond of her being a musclewoman.
  • No Sympathy: Franky's first reaction to seeing his friend's butt-shaped injury is to laugh at him. He even gives Anya a lift so she can see it closer.
  • Oh, Crap!: Loid is horrified to hear his neighbors accuse him of infidelity along with the risk of Yor ratting him out to her deadly little brother.
  • Reformed Bully: As Martha drives the girls back home, she reminisces as to how Becky had no friends before she met Anya, since she's the heiress to the immense Blackbell fortune, Becky looked down upon the other children who were not as rich as her and pushed them away whenever she was reprimanded for her behavior.
  • Shipper on Deck: Becky decides to help Anya win Scion Boy's heart by giving her a fashion makeover.
  • Spoiled Brat: In her past, the Blackbell heir was this as she antagonized her lower-class peers and initially refused to associate with commoners.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Becky lives up to this archetype by taking her friend on a shopping spree at a lavish department store she rented out for the two.
  • Three-Point Landing: Despite being knocked across the room by a drunken Yor, Twilight is able to land on his feet with the utmost elegance.
  • Tears of Joy: Yor sheds these after Loid assures her that he still wants her in his life as his wife and as Anya's mother.
  • Unfazed Everyman: The bartender doesn't respond when a drunken Yor goes into a rant over her husband falling in love with another woman. Considering his profession, he must be used to it by now.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: The following day after their date, Yor forgot everything that happened while she was drunk. So Loid had to explain what happened along with his speech of assurance.
  • Worthy Opponent: Played lightly. Becky acknowledges that Yor is very beautiful in person and accepts her as a worthy rival for Loid's heart.
  • Yes Men and Women: Becky has a legion of servants who cater to her every whim and shower her in praise during her fashion montage.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Yor is in fear that Loid will kick her to the curb and replace her with Fiona.
  • You Remind Me of X: Loid confides in Yor by saying that her strong and kind presence reminds him of his mother.
