Tropes that appear in this episode include:

  • All for Nothing: Loid tells Anya that she can't tell anyone about her adventures in stopping the terrorists as they need to keep any controversial actions a secret from the public. Thus, her hopes of being Starlight Anya again are dashed before her eyes.
  • And This Is for...: When Yor sees Keith driving on the street, she jumps in the middle of the road and delivers a powerful kick to his car claiming that that was for trying to hurt Anya.
  • Anger Born of Worry: Loid briefly tells Anya off for running on her own and risking her life.
  • Animal Testing: Doggo remembers his time as a former test subject and how cruelly he was treated by his experimenters.
  • Bait-and-Switch: In the last episode, it looked like Loid was about to Mercy Kill the bomber dog. In reality, he simply shot at the straps that connected to the bombs so he could remove them.
  • Bully Hunter: A non-violent variation is seen when Anya is looking for her lost gloves a bulldog picks them up, and carries them off. When Anya asks for them back, the bulldog barks and growls at her, only for Bond to stand menacingly over the bulldog and silently signal that it's in his best interest to give Anya her gloves back.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Anya believed that just having a dog would be enough to earn Damian's attention and possible friendship. She never took into account what to name her new dog along with learning about his age or breed.
  • Disappeared Dad: Discused by Twilight. As he looks at Anya and Bond playing in the dog park, he has an internal monologue about how when Operation Strix ends, he'll stop being Loid Forger and assume a new identity when he's assigned a new mission, although he'll try to stay in touch with Yor and Anya for as long as it's feasible.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Damian is disappointed when Anya tells him that her dog is called "doggy".
  • The Greatest Story Never Told: Anya is forbidden from telling anyone about how she helped stop the terrorists as doing so would inspire panic and ruin the currently fragile peace.
  • Heroic BSoD: Played for laughs. Anya tells Damian that she has a dog now but he doesn't care which makes the screen go all bluish and her break down and call the world doomed.
  • Hidden Depths: Sylvia admits that she had a daughter once and seeing Anya reminded the Handler of her.
  • Jerkass Realization: When he sees Anya react in absolute terror by his response along with his coat-riding clowns praising him for insulting her, Damian worries if he was being too harsh on her.
  • Meaningful Name: Anya decides to christen her new dog as "Bond" as the dog has the same heroic personality as the cartoon Bondman. Even his paws resemble the black gloves worn by the superspy.
  • Oh, Crap!: Anya gets like this when she realizes that Damian didn't want to be her new friend just because she had a dog.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: Not wanting to let go of her new furry friend to the authorities, Anya threatens to go bad and quit school. And not wanting to jeopardize Operation Strix, Sylvia allows her to keep the dog.
  • Pedestrian Crushes Car: Yor gives a stellar kick to Keith's car that forces him to crash into a light post.
  • Previously on…: The episode begins with clips of the past two episodes which led up to Twilight confronting a bomber dog.
  • Shout-Out: The bulldog that picks up Anya's gloves refers to them as "my precious," much like Golum does to the ring of power in The Lord of the Rings
  • Sleep Cute: The last scene of Anya and Bond sleeping together.
  • We Have Reserves: Doggo's lab researcher wasn't bothered with pushing his dog subjects to the brink of death as he could simply order more dogs to experiment on.
