An artifact known as the Tablet of Time, which is said to have to the power to restore someone's youth, has been discovered is sent Empire State University for Dr. Connors study it, hoping to uncover its secrets to help cure Spider-Man of his condition. But both the Kingpin and Silvermane seek to have the Tablet and will stop at nothing to get it.
This episode provides examples of:
- The Dog Bites Back: After Silvermane chews him out for failing to get the Tablet of Time, even calling him as a pathetic joke, Hammerhead immediately went to work for Kingpin in retaliation
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones:
- The Kingpin truly does love his wife, Vanessa, as when they are having dinner at their mansion he wonders why she is not talking to him.
- Silvermane's daughter, Alisha, is supportive of her father's desire to get the Tablet of Time so he use it to restore his youth and become strong enough to defeat his enemies like the Kingpin.
- Foil: Alisha Silvermane to Vanessa Fisk. Both are morality pets to otherwise ruthless crime lords, with Alisa being Silvermane's daughter while Vanessa is Kingpin's wife. However, while Alisa is loyal to her father and aids in his career of crime, Vanessa wants the Kingpin to abandon his life of crime.
- Fountain of Youth: The Tablet of Time has the power to restore person youth. It was used by the Toltecs, where every decade they would have a race up their pyramid for their most distinguished warriors, and the winner would regain his youth with the power of the Tablet of Time.
- Kingpin in His Gym: The Kingpin in his private gym with three muscular gentlemen restraining him while the news is talking about the Tablet of Time on a background television. When he learned the possible price of the artifact, he gains enough enthusiasm to effortlessly throw off all three of them.
- You Have Failed Me: After Hammerhead fails to get the Tablet of Time for Silvermane, due Spider-Man's interference, Silvermane yells him for doing so. When he tries to pin the blame on Spider-Man, Silvermane dismisses excuses, then tells he'll have someone else, Tombstone, bring him the Tablet of Time, and he tells Hammerhead to be thankful he is letting him live for the moment.
