Jax and Tara go to Oregon, moving away for a few days to get some rest from Clay and his dealings, but their trip ends rather suddenly. Unser tries to disguise Piney's murder as a Cartel attack. The hit on Tara is about to go off, but Clay tries to stop it to prevent Jax from deducing that he's behind it. Linc Potter puts Juice before a difficult choice: to work with him and save most of the club or condemn all of them by refusing.
- An Arm and a Leg: Tara has her wrist smashed by a van door during a kidnapping attempt, and the nerve damage is severe enough that she may never use it again.
- Assassin Outclassin': Jax protects Tara by standing in the gunner's way, and he backs off.
- Boom, Headshot!: Rafi is shot in the head by a One-Niner, and Alvarez shoots one of them in retaliation.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Gemma intends Clay to die by his son's hand as revenge for John Teller's death.
- Mama Bear: Gemma pulls a gun at Clay for daring to put a contract on Tara.
- Poor Communication Kills:
- Clay tries to call off the hit, but Romero tells him that the gunner can't be contacted until the job is done.
- Alvarez's right-hand man Rafi gets killed by a jumpy One-Niner before everybody calms down.
- The Scapegoat: Roosevelt tells Potter that he's been used as a patsy to use against SAMCRO.
- That Wasn't a Request: Linc Potter tells Roosevelt that he's legally obliged to help with the investigation, no matter what his personal feelings are.
- Would Hit a Girl: Clay hits Gemma across the face during a brawl in their house, leaving several large bruises.
