Sonic has defeated Shadow, but Eggman has all seven emeralds in hand. However, when the mad doctor tries to open fire, the Space Colony begins plummeting to Earth as part of Gerald's sinister plan to exact revenge on the world. With 27 minutes and 53 seconds before impact, Sonic, Eggman, Chris, and all of their friends and allies must hurry to stop the extinction of all mankind before it's too late.
This episode contains examples of:
- Animation Bump: Compared to the last two episodes, this episode has cleaner, more fluid and on-model animation.
- Composite Character: Chris. He takes Rouge's place from the game in reading Professor Gerald's diary and being given one of Shadow's limiter rings from Sonic. He also takes Amy's place in convincing Shadow to turn good.
- Enemy Mine: The heroes team up with Eggman to stop the ARK from crashing towards Earth.
- Heel–Face Turn: Shadow hurries to help Sonic and company after realizing Maria's true wish.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Shadow gives up all of his energy to help Super Sonic stop the ARK from crashing into Earth in the end.
