The twenty-fourth episode of the second season of Sonic Boom.
A man from another dimension claims to be Steve Eggman, the long-lost brother of Dr. Eggman. Steve claims that he wants to fight for good alongside Sonic and his friends, but Steve may not be who he says he is.
This episode provides examples of:
- Alternate Universe: Steve Eggman is revealed to be Morpho, a shape-shifting robot hailing from another dimension, which was blown up by it's native Eggman.
- Beach Bury: After defeating Eggman's robots, Sonic finishes Eggman off by burying him in the sand.
- Bridge Logic: To rescue the Gogobas, who are surrounded by a river of lava, Morpho shoots down a tree for them to run across.
- Chekhov's Gun: There's a joke with Knuckles where a store owner claims Knuckles devoured his vegetables and Knuckles states he doesn't even eat vegetables. Immediately afterwards, another store owner says Knuckles ruined his storage of glue, to which Knuckles claims he doesn't even eat glue. It seems like a joke, but how does Steve capture Amy? He drops a bucket of glue on her, trapping her to the ground.
- Complaining About Rescues They Don't Like: The Gogoba Chief complains about twisting his ankle as a result of running across the bridge that Morpho made to save them from the lava.
- Expendable Alternate Universe: In this episode, Morpho's home dimension is revealed to have been destroyed by its Dr. Eggman.
- Old-Timey Bathing Suit: Eggman wears one with gray and white stripes at the beach.
- Scary Scorpions: Dr. Eggman has Scorpion Bot hold his spot in his beach chair while he briefly leaves to get some refreshments. However, since Scorpion Bot neglects his responsibilities and Sonic ends up sitting in the chair, not knowing it belonged to Eggman, Eggman has Scorpion bot attempt to attack Sonic by shooting a fireball from its tail. Amy is about to destroy Scorpion Bot when Sonic beats her to the punch.
- Superheroes Wear Capes: Morpho's superhero costume includes a red cape.
- Spot the Imposter: Parodied; Steve Eggman (real identity: Morpho) arrives to Eggman's lair. Before a single line of dialogue is uttered, Cubot grabs a gun and says "Oh, no, there's two of them! Which one do I shoot?!" Orbot quickly slaps the gun out of Cubot's hands.
- True Companions: Just when it seems that Morpho's plan to drive Sonic's friends apart has succeeded and that Sonic is left to fight Eggman's robots by himself, Sonic's friends come to Sonic's rescue, having found out about Morpho's plan.
- Uncanny Family Resemblance: Morpho, in his Steve Eggman form, resembles Eggman, but with a blue suit and blonde hair, which includes a full head of it.
- Voluntary Shapeshifter: Morpho is a shapeshifting robot who is able to transform into anyone. He uses this power to disguise himself as Sonic and his friends to turn them against each other.
