Lois is held captive by Bernard Chisholm, a doctor who was experimented by the Kandorians. Chisholm wants Lois's help to prove that there are aliens living among humans, and he has also taken one of the Kandorians captive. Zod goes undercover to find and rescue the missing Kandorian, but ends up getting shot.

- An Arm and a Leg: Dr. Chisholm dismembers some of the Kandorians he captured to use their limbs as proof of their existence.
- Badass Bookworm: Vala specialized in cybernetic engineering back on Krypton. On Earth she was conducting experiments on human cadavers to find a way to return their powers. While trying to assimilate to life on Earth she gets a job in a bookstore.
- Body Horror: What happened to Dr. Chisholm as a result of the Kandorians reviving him.
- Come Back Wrong: Dr. Chisholm says his "brain won't turn off" ever since the Kandorians revived him.
