After Chloe finds the remains of a girl's body in the Talon and touches a Kryptonite bracelet, the girl's spirit is released, and she possesses Chloe to seek out her killer, who's still at large.
Tropes present in the episode:
- Damsel out of Distress: Subverted at first with Lois, then played straight with Gretchen. Lois manages to toss a knife into Michael's chest, but it wasn't enough to kill him. But then Gretchen uses her possession abilities to force Michael to kill himself despite being captured by him.
- Darker and Edgier: This is one of the darker episodes of the show.
- Demonic Possession: Or, rather, Ghostly Possession because, you know, Gretchen isn't a demon.
- Ghostly Goals: Gretchen possesses Chloe to track down her killer, Michael Westmore.
- Mercy Kill
- Mundanger: Michael Westmore doesn't have any superpowers.
- Orderlies are Creeps: Michael is a hospital orderly who is responsible for Gretchen's murder years ago.
- Plot Device: Gretchen's Kryptonite bracelet.
- Sadistic Choice: Michael presents one to Lois: Slit her wrists or watch Michael put a bullet in Chloe. Fortunately, Lois decides to Take a Third Option.
- Take a Third Option: How Lois responds to the above-mentioned Sadistic Choice—throw the knife into Michael's chest.
- Villain of the Week: Michael Westmore, psychotic orderly.
