Master Eon hires the famous Captain Flynn to assist the Skylanders against Kaos and his Doom Raider pirate crew. But as the team is spending time with him and witnessing his behavior, they start wondering more and more how much of a famous pilot Flynn actually is.
This episode provides examples of:
- Appease the Volcano God: The Greeble tribe that Pop Fizz ended up at planned to do this with him.
- Dissonant Serenity: As the tunnel he dug into the team's prison collapses and he acknowledges it, Flynn's smile doesn't drop.
- God Guise: When the team comes to Pop Fizz's rescue at the end of the episode, Eruptor saves him by posing himself as the Greeble tribe's volcano god.
- Indy Ploy: Flynn’'s plan to save the Skylanders and himself from Fisticuffs couldn't be this more if he had tried. For it to have worked…
- Fisticuffs needed to make their duel a quickdraw, which Flynn didn't account for.
- Fisticuffs had to give Flynn a small gun while he gets a normal gun, so he can give Flynn a fair shot because the small gun is harmless.
- Flynn to use this free shot to shoot at the perfect angle for the bullet to hit the anchor on his ship.
- Said anchor being just above Fisticuffs to land on him.
- And lastly, the remote controlling the prison the Skylanders are in to fall out from Fisticuffs' grasp so Flynn can free the Skylanders and they can trap Fisticuffs himself in said prison.
