Doesn't look that smart, but he's getting there, okay?

Following a corrected test made from Sprocket's new grading machine, it is discovered that Eruptor got a top score on the admissions test, beating out Spyro. Upon further inspection, Eruptor reveals that ever since he was a child, he has had the ability to slow down time and pick up clues around the room to solve questions and mysteries. Seeing the potential in this, his friends encourage him to use it to help them in their fight against evil.
This episode provide examples of:
- Awesomeness by Analysis: Eruptor's unknown smarts has given him the ability to solve mysteries by slowing down time in his head so he can pick up clues and small details on the scene to reach his conclusion. And said conclusion always turns out to be true.
- Jerkass Ball: Eruptor is easily at his worst in this episode. He tells other people's secrets right out without consulting with them if that's okay and gets so indulged in his new ability that he looks down on his friends for not having it, and when Spyro tries to talk to him about it, Eruptor shrugs it of as Spyro just being jealous.
- Never My Fault: Spyro was one of the ones who encouraged Eruptor the most to put his Hyper-Awareness to use. After Eruptor becomes more of an Insufferable Genius because of how effective this power is, Spyro tries at first to talk some sense into him when this makes Eruptor decide to head out to fight villains on his own. Eruptor counters this by pointing out Spyro's hypocrisy after what he did in the last episode, using his genius to piece together what happened. After Eruptor says this, Spyro angrily lets him head off alone, all while putting all the blame on Eruptor for becoming so arrogant without realizing that he was also feeding Eruptor's ego before via all of his encouragement. And at the end of the episode, everyone seems to agree that it was Eruptor alone who caused his arrogance upgrade, and Eruptor decides to never use his genius ever again.
- Too Awesome to Use: Eruptor's mystery solving ability is incredibly useful, and thanks to it, Eruptor is also one of the smartest people at the academy. However, using this ability in any way gives him splitting headaches, which is why he has never used it in a long time. Sprocket fixes this by giving him a pair of lenses that blocks out the headaches.
- You're Just Jealous: When Spyro tries to stop Eruptor from being too engrossed in his power to the point where he goes out on his own, Eruptor shrugs it off as Spyro just being jealous that Eruptor broke his admissions record.
